On a U.S., Iranian, Israeli Peace Agreement

Here is what seems to be a reasonable proposal for a peace pact with Iran – – from an observer far away.

Strait of Hormuz

• Iran will cease forever any attempt to impede movement of any vessel through the straits of Hormuz or to impose any charge for passage.
• The U.S. will terminate its naval blockade, as long as Iran is in compliance with the above commitment.
• Iran, Israel and the U.S. will reconfirm that the strait is an international water channel with free transit guaranteed for all.

Nuclear Program

• Iran will forswear any and all Nuclear weapons aspirations
• The U.S. will buy all of Iran’s highly enriched uranium at a price established by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
• Iran will be allowed to enrich uranium, but only to levels necessary for civilian/medical purposes.
• Iran will submit to frequent and thorough inspections by the IAEA

Military Matters

• Iran will be free to develop and install defensive military protection to include early detection systems, a reasonable quantity of short range missiles/rockets and drones.
• In addition to nuclear weapons, Iran will also forswear production or installation of long range missile and drone systems.
• Compliance will be monitored by an international commission to be established, with unlimited access guaranteed by Iran.

Regional Undertakings

• Iran will cease and desist from all economic and military support for its regional proxies; to include Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houties and those in Iraq and Syria
• Iran will enter into “Regional Security Pact” with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Turkey and Israel to promote peace in the region and to peacefully resolve any disagreements or issues requiring clarification.

Financial Matters

When Iran has demonstrated its compliance to the above terms

• U.S. Sanctions will be removed
• Iranian Blocked funds will be released
• The World Bank and Israel will extend loans to Iran, at favorable rates, for reconstruction. 

Future Trade & Investment arrangements

– The US, Israel and Iran will enter into trade and investment agreements to find ways to cooperate in areas where there is a common interest and a competitive capability.

US Military Presence

• The U.S will remove its recent military build up in the region asap.
• The US will maintain its current bases in the region for 5 years with the expectation that these will be substantially drawn down, or shuttered completely, provided that all terms of this agreement are rigidly adhered to.

When these conditions are completely and faithfully executed for a period of 5 years the U.S. and Israel will enter into a Non-Aggression Pact with Iran.
