As the war rages and fatalities mount to unconscionable levels and as Gaza, this 140 square mile enclave, is being systematically obliterated and as the erstwhile innocent Gazans are caught in the middle of an ongoing nightmare with nowhere safe to hide, calls for a ceasefire and for aid seem to fall on deaf ears.
Israel has been a long tern ally. The U.S. has been a reliable, loyal and indispensable partner, helping the country to grow, to thrive and to remain safe. We, and pretty much only we, have for many years extended billions of dollars in aid, provided our latest and best military hardware and training, rushed to resupply it when it is attacked and munitions run low, for whatever reason. We have blindly protected Israel politically, vetoing, petty much alone, any UN resolution critical of it even when Israel has contravened UN statues to which both the United States and Israel have subscribed. We have tolerated actions contrary to our own values, actions that we do not even allow ourselves. We have done all this at a substantial cost and with considerable risk to our country and to our people.. That risk is played out every day now in the Gulf.
Seems to me we don’t have to beg Israel to change course – – – we tell them, we demand it.

Totally agree. While I don’t have direct geo-political experience in the Middle East, I believe that Israel has gone/continues to go way off course in this sad situation. Terrorists should be held accountable for their actions. Innocent people should not be punished because they are – well
– innocent.
Obliterating a country, destroying its infrastructure including hospitals & educational institutions, depriving its citizens of basic human needs like food and water is genocide.
Demanding an end is way overdue.
